Micropile Construction

Lexington, KY |Shelbyville, KY

Micropiles are a deep foundation element constructed using high-strength, small-diameter steel casing and/or threaded bars. Thoroughbred Engineering specializes in micropile construction for a variety of applications, including: stabilizing foundations in seismically active regions, supporting bridges and other structures with heavy loads, and repairing damage caused by sinkholes or landslides. Micropiles can also be used to anchor guy wires for towers and wind turbines. In each of these cases, micropiles offer a number of advantages over traditional foundation elements, such as improved load-bearing capacity and greater resistance to lateral forces. As a result, micropiles have become an increasingly popular choice for deep foundation applications.
